NEW DELHI: Former All-rounder of India Yuvraj Singh And current head coach Ravi Shastri Engaged in a hilarious conversation on Twitter on Thursday.
It all started on the historic moment anniversary of India’s 1983 World Cup winning team with Yuvraj. On this day, 37 years ago, India defeated the West Indies by 43 runs at the prestigious Lords to win their first World Cup.
His post read: “The moment of national pride, our seniors took 1983 Cricket world cup this day. Congratulations to every member of the 1983 team. You set the benchmark for achieving us in 2011. India is expected to become the world winner in all sports. ”
Shastri heeded the message and wrote: “Thank you, Junior! You can tag me and Kaps too. #Therealkapildev.”

Yuvraj replied straight away and wrote: “Hahaha Sr.. You are a legend on and off the field. Kapil Paji was a different league altogether.”
Not only Yuvraj but Kapil’s efforts in the World Cup were also appreciated by former teammate Dilip Vengsarkar, who played a key role in India’s victory in England.
Kapil scored 303 runs at an average of 60.60 including an unbeaten 175 against Zimbabwe, considered as the biggest ODI innings ever, and also took 12 wickets during the tournament.
Vengsarkar told IANS on Thursday, “We defied all odds to win against all the West Indies. Kapil has been outstanding throughout the tournament.”
