CTET director and secretary, CBSE, issued a notice on Thursday stating that the 14th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) – scheduled to be held in July 2020 has been postponed to 5 July.
The notice further states that “The next date of the examination will be informed if it is more conducive for the conduct of the examination. All the candidates registered for CTET July 2020 are informed that for any update, they may visit the CTET website www.ctet can go to .nic. regularly. ”
Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted, “In view of the current circumstances, it has been decided by #CBSE to postpone the #CET exam to be held on July 5, 2020. The next date of examination will be announced.
Earlier, the CTET was scheduled to be held on 5 July, which has now been postponed to a later date. The new date of CTET exam will be released later on the official website of CTET –
There will be two papers for CTET – Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for the candidates who wish to become a teacher for classes I to V and Paper II is for the candidates who want to become a teacher for classes VI to VIII. A candidate who wants to become a teacher for both levels (from class I to V and from class VI to VIII) can appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).
The online application process for CTET July 2020 began on 1 January and closed on 24 February 2020. The candidates were given time till 27 February to pay the application fee for CTET July 2020.
CBSE will also issue CTET admit card on its official website. Admit card details will be released in due time. Candidates are advised to visit the official website of CTET regularly to get the latest information about the exam.
