NEW DELHI: Government has imposed upper and lower limits Airfares Depending on how the situation turns out, may be extended from August 24, Aviation Secretary P. S. Kharola Said on Saturday.
Government resumed Domestic passenger flights From May 25 after a suspension of about two months to deal with a coronovirus outbreak, but lower and upper limits were placed on airfare depending on the duration of the flight.
It had said on 21 May that these limits would be for a period of three months.
Kharol said in a press conference, “Depending on how the situation changes, the fare band may have to adjust even beyond that time (24 August). But right now it’s only for three months.”

International passenger flights remain suspended in the country.
However, the government started Vande Bharat Mission May 6 to help stranded people reach their destination via special flights.
Aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri The conference said that during Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the mission, private domestic airlines have been approved to operate 750 international flights to bring back those stranded amid the coronovirus epidemic.
