New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday demanded the cancellation of university exams and urged the UGC to promote the students on the basis of past performance during the coronovirus epidemic.

Accusing the University Grants Commission (UGC) of causing confusion, Gandhi said that conducting exams during the COVID-19 epidemic is inappropriate and that the UGC should listen to the students’ voices.

“COVID has hurt many people. Students in schools, colleges and universities are suffering losses.

He said in a video message, “While IITs and colleges have canceled exams and promoted students, UGC is creating confusion. UGC should also cancel exams based on past performance and promote students . ”

Gandhi participated in the U SpeakForStudents’ campaign by the Congress party and posted a short video message on Twitter.

“It is highly inappropriate to conduct an exam during the COVID-19 epidemic.”

“UGC should hear the voices of students and academics. The exam should be canceled and the students promoted based on past performance,” he also tweeted.

The Congress has launched a campaign in favor of students, urging cancellation and promotion of exams during the epidemic.
