BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh government on Monday decided to promote students in the second semester of post graduation as well as first and second year students of undergraduate courses without conducting examinations in view of the status of coronovirus.

Separately, a decision about opening the school will be taken on July 31, a government official said, adding that a meeting was organized by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in the evening.

The decision will be implemented in higher and technical education institutions in the state.

“It was decided that undergraduate first and second year students and second semester of postgraduate courses would be given admission in the next class or semester, based on their previous year or semester marks or without internal assessment. Examination,” the official said.

He said that the government has decided to declare the results of the final year of undergraduate students and fourth semester of postgraduate courses, based on the highest marks obtained by them during previous years or semesters.

In the final year or semester, students who want to improve their marks by taking the exam, will have the option to take offline examination at a later date.

The state has a total of 17.77 lakh students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the current academic session.

The officer also informed that the class 10 and 12 examinations have been completed.

He said that class 10 results are expected in the first week of July and class 12 results in the third week of July.
