A week after he was picked up by the Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly threatening to ‘blow up’ the state’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath, the family of a 15-year-old boy from Agra are awaiting his return.
However, the family termed the boy’s action as “childish”.
Kishore’s 70-year-old grandmother said she was not at home when she took her grandson. “We are trying and the boy’s father has gone to Lucknow to ensure his release,” she said.
He said, “My grandson is an ordinary boy and should not be considered a criminal for his childish acts.”
According to police in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City Police, the teenager had sent a threat by WhatsApp to the state’s dial 112 helpline number. The police traced the mobile number through his cyber cell and it was a boy from a village in Agra district.
Two policemen landed at the boy’s house in Agra last Sunday and were taken to Lucknow where he was presented before the Juvenile Board. She was later sent to a juvenile home in the city. The boy is the son of a school teacher.
