A magnitude 6.5 earthquake shook several cities in Pakistan

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook the northern part of the country, including the federal capital and several cities in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday night. The tremors were also felt in several cities in India.

According to reports, tremors were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Mardan, North Waziristan, Swat, Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore.

The tremors were also felt in Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Toba Achakzai, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Dir and Chitral.

The epicenter was reported at 80 km depth, according to the Seismological Center. Citizens have been advised to be cautious as expected aftershocks.
