A new species of dinosaur has been discovered in Australia, one of the largest in the world

Bergen: According to archaeologists, a giant dinosaur discovered in Australian territory has been identified as a new species and is known to be the largest ever to orbit the earth.
A part of the titanosaur family that inhabited about 100 million years ago, the Australian coprinsis, has finally been named and described 15 years after its bones were exposed.
It was estimated to measure 5-6.5 meters (16-21 feet) in height and 25-30 meters (82-98 feet) in length – making it the largest dinosaur in Australia.
“Based on a safe comparison of organs, this new titanosaur is estimated to be in the top five in the world,” said Robin Mackenzie, director of the Armanga Natural History Museum.
Fossil-like bones were found on Mackenzie’s family farm in 2006 in the Aeromanga Basin, 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) west of Brisbane, under the title “Cooper”.
The skeleton was initially kept secret in 2007 when scientists secretly excavated and studied the bones.
Scott Hawknoll, an ophthalmologist at the Queensland Museum, said it had been “a long and arduous process” to confirm that australopithecines were a new generation.
The study, which relied on 3D scan models of bones to compare dinosaurs to its closest relatives, was published in the journal Peer J on Monday.
Several other dinosaur skeletons have been found in the area, Haknol added, adding that more work is needed because “such discoveries are the tip of the iceberg.”
