Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the 2023 elections will be held according to the results of a new census.
Talking to media, he said that the problem with the MQM protests was that the local body elections were imminent and the census could not be held in just one month. However, he said MQM (P) leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s demand for a census in urban areas was justified.
He said preparations for the new census would begin in 2022 and the 2023 elections would be based on its results.
