Kabul: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Wednesday discussed the possible resumption of cricket in the country with captain Asghar Afghan and head coach Lance Klusener.
All cricket has been suspended since March in the wake of the coronovirus epidemic, but the game is slowly and steadily trying to gain a foothold around the world.
The ACB intends to host a training camp in Kabul later this month and said that they would follow all necessary government and World Health Organization protocols.
“The ACB leadership held a video conference with Head Coach Lance Klusner, Chief Selector Andy Moles, Captain Asghar Afghan and some ACB officials as they discussed the training camp in June according to the guidelines of WHO and the Ministry of Public Health in Kabul Will be held. ”The board tweeted.
Earlier, last week, Cricket Australia announced the dates and locations of its matches later this year. They will play a unilateral Test against Afghanistan at the Perth Cricket Stadium on 21 November.
Afghanistan played their first Test against India in Bengaluru in 2018 and have played in four matches so far. They have lost two and won two – against Bangladesh and Ireland respectively.
