Akhilesh Kumar Singh of DAVV Indore appointed new VC of PRSU Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: Director of Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMRC), of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, Akhilesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University by the governor of the state Anandiben Patel.

The new VC is appointed for a period of three years from the day he assumes his office.

Born and raised in Dawani village in Ballia district, Singh did his early studies with Ballia. He continued his undergraduate and postgraduate studies from a college in Ballia, which at that time was affiliated to Gorakhpur University. For further studies, this bright student went to Banaras Hindu University, where he did his B.Ed., after which he did his M.Ed., M.Phil and Ph.D from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore and later joined this university, About 3 million colleges are affiliated.

He has nearly 28 years of rich professional experience in various aspects of teaching and training, research and development and educational administration in various capacities including Research Officer, Course Coordinator and Director-in-Charge at EMRC, DAVV, Indore. Singh has made significant contributions in the field of media production and broadcasting, and media education through various academic assignments and achievements, including publications in form documentaries, publications, research papers and articles, etc.

Singh visited KMUTT Bangkok to impart training and is also in charge of the University Cultural Center and Devi Ahilya Shodashpeeth. He has been honored with many accolades and awards such as the MP Young Scientist Award, UGC-CEC National and International Award for Research.

Speaking to TOI, Singh said, “After joining the new responsibility, I would like to analyze the SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges), after which the priority areas will be identified and worked on”.

He adds, “The best thing about this state university is that it is a ‘growing institution’ which gives vast opportunities and scope for development and streamlines the system. Singh said that my predecessor bowlers have performed brilliantly while moving the ball and now it is my turn to take the varsity, which is associated with great leaders like Rajju Bhaiya to a new height.
