24News HD TV channel reported Sunday that law enforcement agencies killed Sheikh Waqas, an al-Qaeda commander, in Dera Ismail Khan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and law enforcement personnel conducted a joint operation near Zakori Cemetery in Tosifabad area of DI Khan District.
As the joint forces approached the area, the most wanted terrorist attacked the personnel, who retaliated by dropping him off.
The al-Qaeda commander had dozens of murders, including police. He was also involved in several attacks on police posts.
He also threatened Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the KP government announced Rs 3 million as head money for Sheikh Waqas.
During the operation, lawmakers also recovered three grenades and sophisticated weapons.
