Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, said on Tuesday that there was no mention of money in the video, which went viral on social media.
In response to a question about the video, which showed him doing horse trading before the Senate election, Ali said that a PTI MNA had told him that the government would give him a prominent ballot paper and if he “If double stamps are put on such ballot papers, the situation arises,” he said.
Ali said that what he was talking to the PTI MNA was normal. He said that PPP was openly seeking votes from the ruling party legislators in the Senate elections. He said that his father had even written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan for voting. He said that he had gone to see the MNA of PTI at his invitation and he was going to meet more lawmakers of the ruling party.
A few hours after the Senate election, Ali’s video showed him “buying votes” for his father, who is running for the Senate seat. The video shows Ali asking the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA to “sell his vote” or put a double stamp on it so that it is wasted.
