Let’s Start this Interesting Article Shared on DesiNew.xyz

Amazon India has announced that it is providing free health insurance for Kovid-19 to all its vendors in India. The insurance will help cover expenses related to hospitalization and treatment as well as ambulance assistance and ICU charges of up to Rs 50,000, and will be valid for one year after activation.

Amazon will fully finance premiums for this health insurance and has partnered with Eko General Insurance (Eko) to manage policy delivery and claims and reimbursement handling. Health insurance will cover sellers who have an active product list on Amazon.in between January 2019 to May 26, 2020.

How can a seller register for an insurance policy?

Amazon will open a 7-day enrollment window in which sellers can enroll themselves by providing personal details and KYC documents. No medical examination will be required for registration. For each seller account, only one person will be covered under the insurance policy. Once the required details are processed, vendors will be issued a unique health identification (UHID) number by Eko, which they can use to file their claims and reimbursements.

To claim COVID-19 related hospitalization and treatment expenses, registered vendors will need to intimate Eko. The standard waiting period of 15 days will be applicable at the commencement of the insurance policy.
