VIJAYAWADA: The Governing Council of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has read a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting examinations for government services. Keeping in mind the precautions required by Kovid-19, a detailed roadmap has been prepared for conducting the examination. The board will announce the program separately as several examinations will be conducted in the following months.

The APPSC Board held a meeting in the Commission’s office on Wednesday. Service Commission secretary and senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu said that they would soon finalize the exam schedule as the commission is focusing on measures to prevent the spread of the virus during the conduct of examinations. Anjaneyulu told TOI, “Security of candidates and security personnel is high on our agenda. We will conduct all examinations by taking the highest level of security measures to prevent Kovid-19.” Anjaneyulu said that the dedicated rooms at the examination centers would be marked as isolation wards.

The schedule of Group-I heads will be ready by the end of the month, Anjanayalu said, adding that the Commission will conduct the examination after the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination and before the UPSC Main Examination. “We will give a gap of at least three weeks after the preliminary examination of UPSC before the Group-I election,” Anjanayulu said.

Anjaneyulu said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has directed all departments to prepare a list of vacancies to prepare an action plan to fill these posts. The commission said that it would prepare the recruitment examination calendar after receiving the list of Steh vacancies from the government.
