Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday said that the Pakistan Army would do its utmost to achieve peace for the sustainable socio-economic development of Balochistan.

The Army Chief’s statement came during a visit to the Southern Command Headquarters in Quetta, where he was received by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief’s statement came a day after four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred and eight others were injured in two separate terrorist attacks in Quetta and Turbat areas of Balochistan, respectively. has come.

“In the first incident, the FC check post near Pir Ismail Ziarat was targeted by terrorists,” the army’s media wing said in a statement.

During the exchange of fire, four to five terrorists were killed and seven to eight were injured. In addition, four FC soldiers testified and six others were injured in the attack.

“In another incident, terrorists targeted an FC vehicle with an IC in Turbat,” ISPR said. Two FC soldiers were injured in the blast.

“Such cowardly acts by anti-state forces and paramilitary elements backed by hostile intelligence agencies (HIA) cannot sabotage peace and prosperity in Balochistan,” the ISPR said.
