Asim Bajwa calls it a day. Khalid Mansoor formed SAPM on C-Pack issues.

Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa, chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, resigned from his post on Tuesday.

He said in a tweet, “I bow my head to Allah Almighty who has given me the key role of CPEC Authority as a window for all C-Pack projects while setting the future direction.” Given a chance. “

Following Bajwa’s resignation, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the appointment of Khalid Mansoor as Special Assistant to C-Pak Affairs.

Bajwa said he had good wishes for Khalid Mansoor. He said that Mansoor was fully equipped to take the C-Pack forward. C-Pack is the lifeline for Pakistan. It will transform us into a progressive and fully developed country.

Lieutenant General (retd) Bajwa was appointed Chairman of the CPEC Authority in November 2019, and then in April 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed him as his Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting. However, on October 12, Prime Minister Imran Khan fired Lieutenant General (retd) Bajwa from his additional portfolio of SAPM for information and broadcasting.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar thanked Bajwa for playing an important role in advancing C-Pack and expanding the scope of the project. The Federal Minister welcomed Mansoor as SAPM for C-Pack Affairs. His extensive corporate experience, extensive work with Chinese companies, and his direct involvement in leading some of CPEC’s major projects make him an ideal person to lead the next phase of CPEC.

Later, Shahbaz Gul, Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Communications, shared the notification of Mansoor’s appointment in a tweet.

According to a private TV channel, Khalid Mansoor has more than 32 years of experience in the energy and petrochemical sectors, playing a key role in the development, implementation, management and operations of mega-sized projects. According to a profile available on Engro Energy’s website, he recently rejoined the board of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) as a director.
