Australia and England players arrive in UAE from UK for cricket news

DUBAI: 21 Australian and English players, who are members of different IPL franchises, arrived here from the United Kingdom ahead of the opening match of the world’s richest T20 tournament on Saturday.
Players such as Steve Smith, David Warner, Joffra Archer and Jose Butler landed here in the late evening (UAE time) on a chartered flight from the UK and joined a white ball series that ended on Wednesday.
Warner and some other players were seen wearing personal protection kits (PPE) in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, which has forced the BCCI to relocate the league out of India this year.
All of them will undergo RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 in Dubai and three players from Kolkata Knight Riders – Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton and Pat Cummins – then proceed to Abu Dhabi, where their team is based.
Only KKR and defending champions Mumbai Indians are based in Abu Dhabi while the remaining six franchises are in Dubai.
All Australian and English players arriving in the UAE will undergo a quarantine of just 36 hours, instead of the six days already scheduled, after the BCCI was able to successfully resolve the issue with local authorities in the UAE led by Sourav Ganguly.
