Australia registers first case of new Kovid-19 tension that emerged in South Africa – World News

Regional Health Minister Yvette D’Eath said on Tuesday that Australia had registered its first case of coronovirus stress, known as the 501.V2 variant and linked to South Africa in the northwestern state of Queensland.

“A foreigner who arrived in Queensland on 22 December has tested positive for the new South African version. This will be the first positive case of the South African version in Australia. ‘

According to health officials, genome testing confirmed that a woman, who had returned from abroad and quarantined at a hotel in Brisbane, was infected with the 501.V2 strain.

Queensland officials are monitoring other passengers who flew with the same woman, who later tested positive for the Kovid-19, D’Se said.

Apart from South Africa, several other countries have reported a 501.V2 strain of SARS-CoV 2, including Japan and the United Kingdom. UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the 501.V2 variant is even more dangerous than another new coronovirus strain that has been spreading in his country since September and is believed to be up to 70 per cent more infectious. South Africa stated that there was no evidence to support this claim.

Many countries around the world have halted air traffic on new coronovirus variants with the UK and South Africa.
