DUBAI: Bangladesh cricket team’s next month’s Sri Lanka tour was postponed on Wednesday due to the COVID-19 epidemic, which has wreaked havoc on the international sports program worldwide.
The ICC posted on its Twitter handle, “Bangladesh’s Sri Lanka tour, scheduled to take place next month, has been postponed.”

Bangladesh were to tour Sri Lanka next month for a three-Test series.
The COVID-19 pandemic postponed Bangladesh’s test tour of New Zealand on Tuesday due to a health threat posed by the pandemic after three cricketers from the South Asian country tested positive for the virus.
New Zealand was slated to play a two-Test series in Bangladesh in August-September as part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Last week, former Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Murtaza, Najmul Islam and Nafees Iqbal also tested positive for fatal contagion.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board had earlier postponed their Test tour to Pakistan in April in addition to the Ireland and UK tour in April.
The Bangladesh tour of Australia, originally scheduled for June, has also been postponed due to the epidemic.
International cricket is set to resume next month when England take on the West Indies in a home Test series.
