Karachi Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) Syed Sharaf Ali Shah said on Friday that the annual practical examinations for Class IX and X have been postponed till August 8.
The BSEK has taken this decision in the light of the orders of the provincial government to immediately lock down the city in an effort to curb the rapidly growing corona virus cases.
The Chairperson said that the practical examinations for the ninth and tenth classes of science and general groups would begin on August 9 and continue till August 17.
“We have decided to protect and facilitate students and teachers during difficult times,” Shah said.
He said that the headmasters and principles of schools registered under BSEK have been directed to strictly adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of infection during practical examinations.
SOPs include the use of face masks, social distance and other precautions.
