Kolkata: Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying that if the TMC supremo had shut down the governor’s office three days ago, the army would have been called three days earlier to give relief to the army.
Tagging the chief minister’s official handle on Twitter, Dhankhar said, “Urge Mamta – get in touch with Guv- it was done that the army was called 3 days ago”.
He said that he is distressed and suffering from the terrible spectacle of people who have been suffering from lack of basic facilities for many days and appealed to the people to remain calm.
“Distressed and battered at the terrible spectacle of people suffering from lack of basic facilities, for days now. My appeal: Government / agencies must be overdue to restore services. Urge people to keep calm, as a response I can wait for the time to bear. ”He added.

The Governor has instructed all the officers to appear at the Raj Bhavan only after normalcy is restored in the city.
He further asked the West Bengal government about the “real loss” Cyclone Amphan “Flood figures are counter-productive” with the central government.
Tagging the handle of the PMO, he said, “Share the real loss @PMO India: Raising the figures is counter-productive.”
The Army on Saturday requested the West Bengal government to assist in the restoration of essential infrastructure and services, sending five columns to assist the civil administration of the city of Kolkata.
Prime Minister’s on Friday Narendra ModiDuring his visit to the state, the West Bengal government’s efforts to deal with the cyclone Amfan and Kovid-19 crisis situation were praised by Chief Minister Banerjee. The Prime Minister announced a relief package of Rs 1,000 crore for West Bengal and Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured in the devastation caused by the cyclone Amfan.
