According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has stressed the need to be vigilant against opposition attempts to reverse the benefits of Operation Redalfsad.
The army chief’s remarks came on the sidelines of a visit to North and South Waziristan districts on Tuesday.
He was briefed on the progress of the Border Management Regime, stabilization operations, socio-economic development projects including the inauguration of the Border Terminals.
The army chief spent the day with troops in the Usman Manza area of North Waziristan, South Waziristan and Mirali, the army’s media wing said.
Talking to the officers and men, the Army Chief appreciated his commitment and professionalism in ensuring a safe and conducive environment for the implementation of the writ of civil administration in the newly merged tribal districts.
“Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in the region and must play its part by strengthening border security and enhancing the capacity of the FC / LEA,” he said.
Talking to tribal elders in Mir Ali, he praised their unparalleled support and sacrifices in the war on terror. “Peace has largely returned to these areas. The hard-won routine will be maintained and enhanced through the collective efforts of the local population, the city administration and the LEA.”
“We need to remain committed and united to continue the journey towards lasting peace and development,” he said.
Earlier, on arrival, the Army Chief was received by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Noman Mahmood.
