Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday emphasized on the high standard of thorough training and preparation as they are the guarantors of peace as in times of peace.
The army chief’s remarks came during his visit to the Thar Desert near Chhor, where the army is taking part in a training exercise called “Jadar-ul-Hadid,” the International Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The Army Chief observed the ongoing training exercises where the operational capability of field formations operating in the desert was being tested in an environment close to the battlefield.
The Army’s media wing said the exercise included integrated exercises of infantry and mechanized forces in a defensive role.
It said that COS Bajwa was given a detailed briefing to an exercise commander on the exercise and the aims and objectives of the exercise to ensure complete control over the field.
The army has been conducting the exercise under tight conditions for more than two weeks, ending on February 28.
“While appreciating the quality of training of the participating troops, the COS expressed complete satisfaction with the operational readiness and combat readiness of the formation,” he added.
