The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given Water Resources Minister Faisal Wawda one last chance to file his reply in the disqualification case by February 9.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja headed a five-member commission which heard the case and in his remarks said that the ECP would not put pressure on anyone regardless.
Faisal Wawda’s lawyer objected that the ECP did not have jurisdiction to hear petitions filed against his client. He said the minister was not a US citizen at the time of filing the nomination, and had previously been a dual citizen.
