Fauci warns of another COVID-19 boom in US

Washington: America’s top infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci warned on Saturday (local time) that the US could be on the cusp of another COVID-19 if it is not cautious.
CNN has given Dr. Anthony Fauci was quoted as saying that there are two major things to prevent two infections, more hospitalizations, and more deaths.
“You are insisting on and doubling public health measures, and B, all you can do is get as many people vaccinated as quickly and as quickly as possible,” he said.
On the vaccine front, the US is “doing very well,” Fauci said.
Citing data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CNN reported that the country recorded a new record over the weekend, with more than four million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in 24 hours.
According to Johns Hopkins University, 30,672,830 people have detected positives for COVID-19. The death toll in the country is 554,779.
The COVID-19 data director at the White House, Drs. Cyrus Shahpar wrote on Twitter, “One record reporting day !! A total dose of + 4.08M was recorded yesterday.”
But despite the record speed of vaccination, there has not yet been enough vaccination of Americans to control the spread of the virus, experts warn. So far, about 31.4 percent of Americans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and only 18 percent of the population has been fully immunized, CDC data show.
This is why experts have urged security measures for now.
Earlier, Fauci also warned that a new wave of COVID-19 infection could be on the way, urging former President Donald Trump to ask his supporters to vaccinate.
More than 101 million vaccine doses have been administered in the US so far, however, with President Joe Biden vowing last month that all American adults would be eligible to receive the vaccine by May 1.
