FM arrived in Turkey on a two-day visit

IstanbulForeign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Turkey on Friday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Melut Çavuşoğlu.

At Istanbul Airport, Kamal was received by Deputy Governor Istanbul Kamal Annan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Cyrus Qazi and senior embassy officials.

During the visit, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu. The Foreign Office said it would also attend a tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkey and Afghanistan.

He is also expected to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the bilateral talks, the two Foreign Ministers will review the entire scope of bilateral relations and discuss preparations for the 7th Summit of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSC) to be held in Turkey this year. The two sides will also discuss the regional security situation.

In a trilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Afghanistan, the Foreign Minister will discuss the latest developments in the Afghan peace process, exchange views on achieving the common goals of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan through Afghan-led and Afghan-owned politics. Will do To this end, implement and highlight Pakistan’s valuable efforts.
