Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said that a section of Afghanistan was making allegations against Pakistan on behalf of India and asked India to stop putting peace in the region at stake.

We do not want India to play the role of spoiler by increasing support for such factions. He said in his statement on the current regional scenario of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) of Afghanistan and India.

The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan and was concerned about the deteriorating situation.

He said that Pakistan was consulting with the neighboring countries of the region so that concrete efforts could be made for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Qureshi said he had invited his Afghan counterpart to Islamabad to hold talks to clear up any misunderstandings.

Earlier, he said that the visit of the Afghan delegation was postponed at the request of his own government.

He said that peace in Afghanistan would benefit the entire region including India.

The Foreign Minister said that a deliberate campaign to discredit Pakistan through fake news was on the rise and noted that the Afghan media was spreading false and fabricated statements attributed to it.

He said that an independent parliamentary forum of the world has recognized Pakistan’s position on the ongoing human rights crisis in IIOJK.

He referred to his letters to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the UN Security Council, highlighting the continuing atrocities of Indian security.
