ISLAMABAD: The daughter of a former Pakistani ambassador to South Korea has been killed in Islamabad, police said on Tuesday. The accused involved in the murder has been arrested.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the murder took place in the city’s high-altitude F-7 area. The deceased – identified as Noormakdam – was the daughter of former diplomat Shaukat Makadam. She was hit by a sharp object which caused her death.
A man allegedly involved in her murder has been arrested, police added. He is said to be the son of a business tycoon. Further investigation is underway.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry condemned the incident and offered condolences.
The spokesman wrote on Twitter, “Including the hashtag,” expressing deep sorrow over the killing of the daughter of a senior colleague and former Pakistani ambassador. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and I hope #Justice #Nore.
