PESHAWAR: Former PTI lawmaker Obaidullah Mayar has admitted accepting a bribe of Rs 10 million in 2018 and alleged that the then Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had asked him to do so.
The confession came after a controversial video surfaced on social media in which some PTI lawmakers were seen allegedly taking bribes ahead of the 2018 Senate elections.

He said he accepted the money at the house of the speaker of the National Assembly and it was “the provincial government that paid the MPA and then made the video.” He added that he was “unaware that the money was being filmed.”
“At that time, Pervez Khattak had formed a committee of 17 MPAs and asked us to vote for them, paid the money, and promised to give them party tickets,” he said in the report.
He said he had also approached the High Court on the matter, adding, “We are with him [his] Statement and “not afraid of anyone”.
“I know the reality of Pervez Khattak as well as the speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser,” he said. “They both made the video, paid us, and the place in the video is the speaker’s house.”
In response to a question about two members of another party, the expert said that “Pervez Khattak had promised to make him a minister when he joined the PTI,” adding that the promise was later fulfilled. went”.
