Former Sindh Governor Mumtaz Bhutto dies in Karachi

KARACHI: Former Sindh Governor and former Chief Minister Mumtaz Bhutto passed away on Sunday.

According to his spokesman, Bhutto had been ill for some time. He died at the age of 94 at his residence in Karachi.

Bhutto was a close associate of former Prime Minister and PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

His spokesman revealed that his body would be sent to Larkana for funeral prayers at 6 pm.

After creating differences with the PPP, Bhutto formed one of his own parties, the Sindh National Front (SNF). In 2017, he announced that the SNF had merged with the PTI.

Earlier, Bhutto had merged the SNF with the PML-N before the 2013 elections. However, after Bhutto’s differences with the PML-N, the two parties split.
