‘Get well soon Paaji’: Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar Kapil Dev – wish cricket to be healthy soon

India’s 1983-World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev suffered a health scare on Friday and was taken to a hospital in New Delhi. Kapil Dev underwent angioplasty on Friday after complaining of chest pain and is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

After the news broke, many prominent members of cricket took to social media to wish the Indian giants to get well soon. India captain Virat Kohli tweeted on Friday: “Prayer for your speedy recovery.” Get well soon. @therealkapildev, ”Kohli tweeted.

Apart from Sachin and Kohli, several other former cricketers from India including Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir wished Kapil Dev to get well soon. “My prayers are with you. Hope you meet #Kapildev Paji soon,” wrote Irfan Pathan. Suresh Raina tweeted: “Wishing Accident Recovery @ Atherelkepildev Sir .. Care and God Bless.”

Expressing similar sentiments, Sachin Tendulkar tweeted: “Take care @therealkapildev! Prayers for your speedy recovery. Poji as soon as possible. “

The hospital chief had earlier issued a statement in which he said that the former India captain would be discharged within two days. “Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, aged 62, came to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) Emergency Department with a chest pain complaint at 1:00 pm on 23 October.

‘He was evaluated and in the middle of the night, the director of the cardiology department, Dr. An emergency coronary angioplasty was performed by Atul Mathur. Currently, he is admitted in ICU and Drs. Atul is closely supervised by Mathur and his team. Kapil Dev is still stable and is expected to be discharged in a couple of days.

Ashok Malhotra, president of the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA), a friend of Kapil, earlier told PTI that the iconic cricketer is doing fine.

“He looks fine now. I only talked to his wife (Romi). He was feeling uncomfortable yesterday. Malhotra, a former Test player, said he was undergoing a check-up at a hospital.
