Google Working on our Android TV streaming device that looks like Chromecast is a rumor we’ve been hearing about for a while now. However, this is the first time some concrete details about the rumored streaming device have surfaced online from Google. XDA Developers has revealed the promotional video, which shows exactly what Google’s Android TV streaming device will look like.
As reported by XDA Developers, Google is planning to launch Android TV streamer codename Sabrina this summer season. The device could be unveiled with the Pixel smartphone coming under Nest branding as Google rebranded its entire smart home device to the Nest brand. The rumor-spreading Google streamer is also expected to come with a remote control like Amazon Fire TV, Nvidia Shield TV or any other Android TV-based streaming device.
According to images and information provided by XDA developers, the Google Android TV dongle has a rectangular shape compared to the round shape of the Chromecast. Also, as we have seen on Chromecast, a wire is affixed. We are considering this as an HDMI port. The front has the ‘G’ logo on it and the device is expected to come in three color options – Black, White and a new Pink color.
The streaming device’s remote is expected to feature a minimalist design with a dedicated Google Assistant button. As the teaser video only reveals the first half of the remote, it is still uncertain whether Google will include a dedicated button for popular streaming services.
In addition, the promotional video suggests an entirely new content-focused Android TV user interface, which will display shows and movies at the bottom of the screen, along with a new auto-scroll carousel of recommended titles.
