Government draws the world to the business opportunities available in Pakistan: FM Qureshi

Dubai: The PTI-led government has successfully attracted the world to the business opportunities available in Pakistan through its economic diplomacy. This was stated by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday.

Speaking at a dinner hosted by Pakistan Business Council Dubai, the Foreign Minister said that it was gratifying that despite the adverse effects of the global coronavirus epidemic, Pakistan has achieved positive results through its economic diplomacy. ۔

He said that Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have improved their bilateral relations in various fields including trade.

He added that the purpose of his visit to Dubai was to promote trade relations between Pakistan and the UAE in a number of areas.

The Foreign Minister said that a large number of Pakistanis reside in the UAE and with their hard work and dedication are playing an important role in the development and progress of the Gulf state.

He further said that the priority of the PTI-led government is to solve the problems of Pakistanis abroad and work for their welfare.

Earlier, on his arrival, the Foreign Minister was received by the President and other representatives of the Pakistan Business Council.

The dinner was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Afzal Mahmood, Consul General Dubai Ahmed Amjad Ali, and senior officials of the Pakistani Embassy.

The Foreign Minister had earlier arrived in the Middle East on a three-day visit and was received at Dubai Airport by senior UAE Foreign Ministry officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE.

During his visit, the Foreign Minister will meet with his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other dignitaries of the United Arab Emirates.

The Foreign Minister is ready to consult with the UAE leadership on trade and investment cooperation in all areas of bilateral cooperation, job opportunities for the Pakistani workforce and the welfare of Pakistani residents.
