Hurricane Delta is heading to America after slamming Mexico

Washington: After a landslide in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Hurricane Delta was now heading towards the US Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest update.
As of the update on Wednesday night, a storm watch has been issued for areas spreading from High Island, Texas to Grand Isle, Louisiana, CNN.
The update says the storm continues to wreak havoc on the High Island to the Alabama-Florida border.
According to the CNN report, “The delta strengthened by growing in the south-central Gulf region of Mexico.”
“Life-threatening storms and damaging winds are increasing rapidly in parts of the northern Gulf Coast starting on Friday.”
Although NHC predicts that the delta may strengthen into a Category 3 hurricane by Thursday night, cooler waters and upper-level winds could weaken it to Category 2 until it hits the US coast.
On Wednesday morning, the Delta made landings on the Yucatan Peninsula as Category 2.
The Delta comes after Hurricane Laura, which made landfall in Louisiana on August 27 as a Category 4 hurricane.
It claimed the lives of 15 people, left hundreds of thousands without power and destroyed more than 10,000 homes in the state.
