Occupied Kashmir (IOK) The Indian Foreign Office on Tuesday chanted slogans over the extrajudicial killing of two Kashmiris on the outskirts of Srinagar.
“Pakistan has strongly condemned the extrajudicial killing of two more innocent Kashmiris in the Khanmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar by Indian occupying forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” the FO said in a statement.
Islamabad noted that “as a result of the exemption granted to Indian forces, Kashmiri youth have been systematically targeted through extrajudicial killings, torture in prisons, disappearances and disappearances.”
The FO also noted that the Indian Army’s actions have been legally covered under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, the Public Safety Act, and the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act.
The FO reiterated that Islamabad has “permanently” called for a UN Commission of Inquiry investigation, as the OHCHR had suggested in its 2018 and 2019 reports.
It added that the commission wanted to investigate “gross and systematic human rights violations” in the disputed valley.
The statement read, “Pakistan reiterated its call for an independent inquiry into the unjustified extrajudicial killings of Kashmiris by Indian professional forces and an international inquiry into the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.” , “
A day earlier, Indian media quoted police in the occupied territories as saying that two alleged terrorists had been “killed” in an “encounter” on the outskirts of Srinagar.
According to the Indian Express, the slain Kashmiris have been identified as Mudassar Khande and Wasim Bashir Pandit. He claimed the two were allegedly part of the al-Badr militant group.
