WASHINGTON: India’s increased manufacturing capacity of COVID-19 vaccines has the potential to be a game changer beyond its borders, the Biden administration said on Thursday.
State Department spokesman Ned said, “This is important to us because India has been hit hard by this outbreak. In fact, no element of Indian society has been untouched by this terrible crisis. That’s why we focused on increasing manufacturing in India.” Said to be focused.” Price told reporters.
“India has the potential to be a game changer beyond India’s borders in terms of increased manufacturing capacity, quantum of capacity. And that’s why this arrangement was announced in the context of Quad,” he said.
Earlier this year in the first virtual Quad summit consisting of leaders from Australia, India, Japan and the United States, it was decided to work together to increase India’s Covid-19 vaccine manufacturing capacity.

The Biden administration announced on Thursday that it would send 25 million of its vaccines to other countries, including India.
“There are some 55 million doses left for the administration’s commitment to send overseas by the end of this month,” Price said. An announcement in this regard may be made in the coming weeks.
