India begins investigation of dumping of low density polyethylene from 6 countries

New Delhi: India has started an investigation into dumping of low density polyethylene from six countries, including Singapore and the US, following a complaint by the industry association.
On behalf of the domestic industry, the Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturers Association has filed an application before the investigation arm DGTR of the Ministry of Commerce to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on the import of ‘Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)’ from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore. . The applicant has alleged that dumped imports of LDPE from these countries have affected the domestic industry, according to a notification by the General of Trade Directorate (DGTR).
The association has requested imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports.
