India vs Australia: ‘But if their middle order does not perform …’ – Shoaib Akhtar weighs in on why team India can struggle down – cricket

India’s four-match Test series against Australia will be a competition in which the entire cricket world will be closely watching the two teams participating. India and Australia along with England are the top Test playing countries in the world and a battle between these two teams in Australian conditions will be fascinating to watch.

Add to this the fact that the Australian team would be trying to get revenge after losing the Test series in home conditions two years ago, and it is a battle royale in waiting. Indian captain Virat Kohli will return from the tour after the first Test to be held with his wife Anushka Sharma as the pair are expecting their first child.

Kohli’s absence will make India’s job difficult, but former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes India has the potential to win a Test series again but could struggle if the middle order does not fire.

“In my opinion, India has the potential to win again. But if their middle order does not perform, then I see them struggling. “People will be watching this series with great interest,” Akhtar told news agency PTI.

India is expected to play the opening Test in Adelaide, which is going to be the first day-night test between the two teams and according to Akhtar it will be the biggest challenge for the touring party.

He said, “Day-night test will be his toughest test. If India plays well under those conditions, you never know. The first two innings of the first Test will tell us where the series is. “Said Akhtar.

He further said that Indian batsmen will have to use conditions quickly and adapt to the pace and bounce of Australian pitches.

“It regulates two-three innings to carry that momentum in foreign conditions. You can’t drive up and have to play close to the body, “he said.
