IOC appoints Narinder Batra as member of Olympic Channel Commission More sports news

NEW DELHI: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra has been appointed as a member of the Olympic Channel Commission.

In a letter to International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bak, Batra, who became an IOC member in June last year, thanked him after being selected for the role.

Batra said, “I am deeply honored and grateful to be appointed as a member of the Olympic Channel Commission and gladly accept this appointment. It is a matter of great pride to further serve the IOC in this additional role. ” International Hockey Federation (FIH).

“I will maintain confidentiality as indicated on the case and look forward to contributing to the committee to the best of my ability.”

The Olympic Channel Commission advises the IOC Session, the IOC Executive Board and the IOC Chairman and provides guidance during the launch and operation of the Olympic Channel.

63-year-old Batra has previously served as the president of Hockey India (2014-2016) and the Asian Hockey Federation (2003-2016). He was also the treasurer of Delhi and District Cricket Association between 2003 and 2013.
