New Delhi: Of the 3.1 lakh students, 99% have passed class X (ICSE) and class XII (ISC) under the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). While the board could not conduct the exam this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the scores for both the sections were calculated on the basis of earlier examinations and assessments. In the results declared on Saturday, the pass percentage in class XII increased from 96.8% in 2020 to 99.7% this year.

With the increase in the overall pass percentage, the pass figures for ISC students in Delhi-NCR also increased from 97.8% in 2020 to 99.3% this year. While 1,417 out of 1,418 male candidates passed, 1,392 out of 1,393 girls passed the hurdle. For ICSE, the pass percentage in the field was 100%, up from 99.6% in 2020. A total of 2,909 boys and 2,554 girls passed the class X examination.

For ISC examination, CISCE relied on the average marks of the paper/subjects obtained by the candidates in various examinations/examinations conducted by their respective schools in class XI and XII, average marks of class X (English and best four subjects) and marks obtained by the Board. of project work/practical test for the exam.

For ICSE, the marks were calculated on the basis of the average marks obtained by the students in the paper/subjects in various examinations/examinations conducted by the schools at the level of IX and X and the internal assessment marks of Class X.

In 2020, exams were conducted on certain subjects before the COVID lockdown was declared. The last year marks were calculated on the basis of the average of the marks of the subjects for which the students appeared.

At the national level both girls and boys have secured 99.9% pass percentage in ICSE. Girls have done slightly better in ISC by securing 99.8% pass percentage. The pass percentage of boys was 99.7%.

For both ICSE and ISC, Southern Zone has the best pass percentage. In class X, it has recorded 100% pass percentage. It is followed by the western region (99.9%). In Class XII, Southern and Western Zones made a comeback with a pass percentage of 99.9%, Northern Zones with a pass percentage of 99.7%.

In special categories, ST students secured 100% pass percentage in Class X, while in Class XII, 99.8% students from OBCs passed the exam.

A total of 2,19,499 students appeared for ICSE out of which 54.1% were boys and 45.9% were girls. There were 94,011 candidates in the ISC exam, of which 53.7% were boys and 46.3% were girls.
