Bengaluru: Putting an end to the speculation related to the exam, Education Minister of Karnataka S.K. Suresh Kumar, while presiding over a high-level meeting here on Tuesday, said that the Class 10 (Secondary School Leaving Certificate – SSLC) board examination will not be canceled or postponed. And will be held from June 21, 2021 according to the pre-determined schedule.

The minister appealed to all the students to continue their studies. He said that examinations would be conducted in June and July.

The education department’s circular also states that class 10 board examinations for state board students (SSLC exam) will be scheduled between June 21 and July 5.

Kumar’s announcement was significant in view of the possibility of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) canceling the Class 10 Board Exam 2021 last week and the SSLC Exam 2021 for the Indian School Certificate on Tuesday morning. The examination (CISCE) announced its decision to cancel the ICSE or Class 10 board exams.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) – Around 8.5 lakh students appear for the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Class 10) examination conducted by the State Board of Education.

KSEEB which normally conducts exams in March / April every year, but due to prolonged lockout in 2020, this year’s annual exams are held in June. The board will have to re-conduct the same exam in the month of June for the benefit of students who fail the main exams. About 2.20 lakh students take the supplementary examination.
