Bangalore: The Government of Karnataka The mall is in favor of opening the hotel, Restaurant And Cinema Hall after May 31, when Lockdown 4.0 ends, provided the center agrees.
Indicating this intention on Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa told reporters here: “I have written to the Center asking for permission to open hotels, restaurants and malls. I am waiting for their reply. I hope we get permission. ”
He said that with the massive work being started by people moving from one place to another, there was a need to open hotels and lodges so that they could get food and accommodation. “I have explained the same in the letter. Finally, the center will take a call, ”he said.
While the malls await government permission, large standalone stores, such as Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop, have already reopened in Bengaluru to resume local commerce and business. About 60% of outlets including Levi’s OnePlus and OnePlus have started operations on Bangalore’s high road, Brigade Road.
“Of the 125 stores on Brigade Road, about 45 are inside two malls, so they are rejected. Of the remaining 80 shops, about 90% have reopened, ”said Suhail Yusuf, secretary of the Brigade Shops and Establishment Association.
He said there are other businesses, restaurants and pubs on the stretch that are not allowed by the government.
In anticipation of permission, the hotel and restaurant have started preparations to resume business from Monday. “The state government has assured us that we will get permission to open from Monday. We hope that the Center will also give the green signal as hotels and restaurants have become indispensable after allowing the movement of people, ”said B. Chandrasekhar Hebbar, President, Karnataka Pradesh Hotel and Restaurant Association.
