Kurukshetra University to offer four online degrees

Kurukshetra: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed Kurukshetra University (KU) to start four full courses from the session 2021-2022. These courses are Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Arts (Mass Communication) and Master of Commerce. A letter in this regard has been received from the UGC, a KU official said.

“This is a major decision that will increase access to higher education and help increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) of students in higher education hospitality”, said Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, KU vice chancellor.

KU has given online education to its 13,000 on-campus students during the Kovid-19 epidemic and has been a huge success.

“We will use the best technology and latest teaching to start these courses from next semester. This step will definitely help in achieving the goal of the new education policy to increase GER to 50% by 2035, ”said Prof Som Nath.

We fulfilled all the criteria of UGC to start full blown online courses and got approval for 4 courses. We will gradually increase the number of online degrees in the coming 5 years, further Pro Som Nath will be added.
