QUETTA: Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani on Thursday said the government “will not leave its students alone” and “will do whatever it can to help them.”
Through a news story Geo TV, The spokesman was responding to a message on Twitter in which a user said that students in Balochistan should be allotted more seats in educational institutions across the country.
The spokesman tweeted, “Balochistan students need more seats in different educational institutions of the country for the purpose of equal representation”.
He said the matter was “of utmost importance” and added that the provincial government would “definitely take up the matter with the concerned authorities”.
Praising the Balochistan government for its efforts in the interest of the students, the spokesman said that the government “has not disappointed the students in the past and will not do so now.”
Shahwani’s tweet came in response to a message shared on a micro-blogging platform where a user wrote, “This province has a guardian, [Shahwani] We have to fight for the students of Balochistan.
“Education is the only way to progress. The Punjab government can be requested to restore seats in KMU, AIMC, NMC and FJMU,” the student wrote.
