Live: Power show of PDM leaders at Ghanta Ghar Chowk

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz is addressing the gathering. He said that when she entered Multan, the entire city had already turned into a rally venue.

Addressing the government, he said that since the venue of the rally was sealed, the people of Multan have turned the streets and surroundings of the city into a rally venue.

He said he was “convinced of the bravery of the people of Multan” because he had been told that the administration had refused to allow the rally, yet people had gathered for a rally.

Another Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) power show is underway after a dispute between the administration and opposition activists over holding a public event at Ghanta Ghar Chowk in Multan at a time when the incidence of corona virus is on the rise. ۔

The original venue was Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh Stadium but the opposition set the stage at Ganta Ghar Chowk after which the venue could not be prepared as the government did not agree to allow the PDM to hold a rally on Corona virus.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz and PPP’s Asifa Bhutto Zardari arrived at the venue along with their supporters. Mahmood Khan Achakzai of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and other PDM leaders are also attending the rally, who are expected to address the crowd today.

Today’s gathering is a series of public rallies in which the PDM is holding across the country to press for the resignation of the PTI government. A large number of people have gathered to participate in the rally.

According to reports, the IG police has ordered the removal of obstacles in the way of PDM workers heading towards the venue. IG Punjab has issued instructions that if the central leaders come in the form of rallies, there should be no resistance.

A coalition of 11 opposition parties led by PDM workers from Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan to Multan in caravans, while Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah is leading a large number of PPP workers from Sindh.

Isfa Bhutto Zardari

PPP leader Isfa Bhutto Zardari reached Multan where Faiza Gilani, daughter of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, received him at Multan International Airport.

According to the TV channel, Yousuf Raza Gilani took Asifa Bhutto Zardari and other party figures in his car to the venue. The distance from Gilani House to Qasim Bagh Stadium is about 13 minutes, but as the caravan is slowly moving amidst existing obstacles, it has now been removed on the instructions of the authorities.

On one occasion towards the main venue, Isfa Bhutto Zardari came out of the car and waved to the PPP workers who had come to greet their leader on his first political speech. They even chanted, “Let’s go, let’s go to Multan.”

Maryam Nawaz Sharif

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif reached Multan where a large number of PML-N workers led by PML-N Punjab leader Rana Sanaullah and Multan Motorway Interchange. The distance from Motorway Interchange to Qasim Bagh Stadium is a half hour drive but it will take time to reach as there are a large number of vehicles in the caravan.

Rohi TV channel reported that a large number of women wing of the Muslim League reached Ghanta Ghar Chowk in support of their leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Women party workers are enthusiastically chanting slogans in favor of the PDM and against the government, claiming that the rally will shake the government.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman

JUI-F chief and PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman is the first PDM leader to visit Qasim Bagh Stadium. Addressing the party workers, the supremo of JUI-F congratulated them on reaching the venue.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman in his short address to the workers said, “The whole country will participate in the next PDM meeting scheduled in Lahore.” We did what we claimed. You have reached Multan Stadium for the rally and have reduced the arrogance of the rulers to dust. .
