Ramakant Upadhyay, Deputy SP of the Government Railway Police in Muzaffarpur, said the incident occurred on May 25 when a migrant woman was going from Ahmedabad to Muzaffarpur in a labor train.
He told reporters that the woman was killed in a train going to Madhubani along with her sister and brother-in-law.
“My sister-in-law died suddenly in the train. We had no problem in getting food or water,” the officer said, quoting the deceased’s brother-in-law that he did not name.
He said that on getting the information, the police took down the body and sent it for postmortem.
Citing the brother-in-law of the deceased, Upadhyay said that she was 35 years old and had been in Ahmedabad for the past one year treating “some disease”. “He was also mentally unstable,” he said.
When asked about the cause of continued death, he said “only doctors can tell”.
