LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb has criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for including Shahbaz Sharif’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL) on the occasion of Eid holidays. Prime Minister Shahbaz is obsessed.

Talking to media after the federal cabinet highlighted the decision to include Shahbaz Sharif’s name in the ECL and prevent him from leaving the country, Maryam said that instead of thinking about the poor and needy on the occasion of Eid, Prime Minister Imran Khan One can only think of Shahbaz Sharif to such an extent that he ordered the opening of offices so that his name could be placed in the ECL.

Criticizing the government’s foreign policy and relations with other states, Maryam said that instead of investing in Pakistan, the allies were sending charities and zakat here.

“If the allies are giving charity to Pakistan, then what is the fault of Shahbaz Sharif?” Maryam asked, Prime Minister Imran Khan did nothing to control inflation on the occasion of Eid.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered Shahbaz Sharif’s name to be included in the ECL but I wish he would resign from his post on Eid day as a gift to the nation,” he said.

“I wish you would apologize to the people on the occasion of Eid or order the arrest of the wheat, sugar and drug mafia instead.”

He said the prime minister should name the ECL as the defaulters of Rs 14 trillion, adding that the federal cabinet had not taken any action against the “thieves” who had defrauded four and a half trillion. Sugar worth billions of rupees has been stolen.

Maryam reiterated that the court had allowed Shahbaz to go abroad for medical treatment.

“Imran Khan Sahabi is deliberately trying to defy the court order,” he said, adding that the deliberate refusal to comply with the court order was not only a contempt of court, but also an attack on the judiciary. ۔

The PML-N spokesperson said that Shahbaz Sharif was celebrating Eid with great joy with the people of Pakistan, his children and family.

He told Prime Minister Imran Khan, “One can only pray for a state of hatred, jealousy and fear.

Shahbaz Sharif’s name joined ECL

On Thursday, the Interior Ministry was directed to add Shahbaz Sharif to the Exit Control List (ECL) after approval from the federal cabinet on Thursday.

A notification regarding the decision will be issued tomorrow (Friday, May 14), according to Interior Ministry sources.

Sources had earlier told Geo News that the ministers had proceeded with the circular summary at the request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

A sub-committee of the federal cabinet had recommended the inclusion of Shahbaz Sharif in the ECL.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had said that the PML-N president could apply for a review of the decision within 15 days.

He had said that the ministry would take a decision within 90 days of receiving the review request, adding that the PML-N leaders could appear in person and apply if they wished.

Talking in more detail about putting Shahbaz’s name on the “blacklist”, Rashid had said that this was not the case at all.

“The court’s decision came with reference to the blacklist. Shahbaz Sharif was not included in the blacklist. He was […] Under an order dated May 7, 2021, “he said without elaborating.

The interior minister had said that three lists had been used to prevent anyone from going abroad: a blacklist, to which the passport office had added someone’s name. The second is the Provincial Identification List (PNIL), which includes someone’s name through the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). And the third is the Exit Control List (ECL) in which the federal cabinet has the power to name anyone.

Rashid had said that the Interior Ministry had received “no request (for permission to travel)” and “nothing to describe the medical grounds”, while previous requests had referred to the medical grounds.
