According to a report published in PTI, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that “there is no need to panic” and the current situation is much better than in June. The city saw a huge increase in coronovirus cases in the month of June, which saw around 2000–3000 fresh cases daily, while the situation improved slightly in July (1000–2000 cases). Following a one-month downward trend in July, it was widely speculated that the national capital had occupied the ‘peak’ and would continue to observe fewer coronavirus cases. However, the celebration was short-lived as matters began to rise again in the last week of August.
