NAB recovers land worth Rs 21 billion in fake accounts case

Rawalpindi: On Tuesday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovered land worth Rs 21 billion from a manzoor in a fake accounts case.

The Islamabad Accountability Court granted Ihsan Elahi’s request for approval. He filed the petition in 2020.

In 2012, a committee of government officials transferred 562 acres of land to Ghulam Hussain Hillary and Yousuf Edhi, according to NAB officials.

In exchange for 292 acres of private land in Malir bin Qasim, 562 acres of government land was transferred to Malir bin Qasim. In addition, 262 acres of illegally transferred land belongs to Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).

The NAB alleged that the Sindh government had snatched the land from the PSM in the name of building a yard for the university and oil tankers. However, neither the university nor the courtyard was built.
